In the shadow of war, thousands of Ukrainians—many of them civilians—have lost not only their homes, but also their limbs. Yet in the face of unimaginable hardship, the human spirit endures. At Nia, we believe that every person deserves the chance to walk again, to work again, and to live again—with dignity and purpose.
That’s why Ukraine is Nia’s urgent focus. In 2023 and 2024, we deployed our life-changing 3D PrintAbility technology to orthopedic workshops in Lviv and Vinnytsia. Now, with your help, we’re preparing to bring this groundbreaking technology to at least one more site—ideally two—by summer 2025.
What Your Donation Will Do
The primary beneficiaries of donated funds are war-affected individuals in Ukraine, who have suffered lower limb amputations due to injuries sustained during the ongoing conflict. Additionally, local rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and prosthetic workshops in the vicinity of 3D PrintAbility sites will benefit by gaining access to advanced 3D printing technology and training for medical professionals.
Project Overview
New site(s) will utilize advanced 3D printing techniques to manufacture high-quality, lightweight, and cost-effective lower-limb prosthetics tailored to the specific needs of individuals with amputations.
Nia will deliver and install 3D PrintAbility equipment and software, provide on-site training to clinicians, deliver initial components and supplies and provide ongoing support to the site(s).
Funding Required
Every deployment of 3D PrintAbility in Ukraine costs more than $100,000 and varies significantly based on location-specific details. Nia partners with foundations, advocacy groups and individual donors to achieve its funding objectives. One such funding partner is Hope and Healing International. Hope and Healing founded Nia and continues to assist Nia in its funding efforts by issuing tax-deductible receipts to donors.
